Texas blues/rock guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Ally Venable has made her fiery presence known around the world since the release of her debut album No Glass Shoes in 2016. With her fifth solo effort Real Gone! released on Ruf Records in March 2023, Venable feels she is coming of age and maturing as a songwriter and performer.

The new record, produced by Grammy winner Tom Hambridge, features guest appearances by Joe Bonamassa and living legend Buddy Guy. Songs like her duet with Guy, “Texas Louisiana”, and the title track, “Real Gone!” crackle and smoke with the electric presence of a star charting her own course. Upon its release, the album immediately shot up to #1 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart, and it remained high on the chart for much of 2023. Ally’s sound is fully contemporary, rooted in the bedrock of American music, and built on the kind of talent that only presents itself every few generations. Her guitar work is wiry and ferocious and her vocal sparkle and strut. She’s one of today’s top blues artists by any measure and her career is only picking up speed.

Last year, Ally opened for Buddy Guy on his farewell tour, rocked Europe again on the Blues Caravan Tour, and did her own headline shows domestically and abroad. She’s had a rapid rise to fame but gives off the vibe of someone who loves her life and is ok with it all. “I started playing guitar when I was 12 years old,” she said. “I’m 24 now, and I’ve been able to tour, see the world, and make people happy with my music. Nothing can get better than that!”

Opening Band: DANNY GARWOOD & CO

My name is Danny Garwood and I’ve been playing guitar for 6 years, and it is my passion. I take inspiration from such artists as Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Gales, Stevie Ray Vaughan and countless others in the guitar world/community. I live in Nashville TN and my mission is to keep the blues alive and pass it on to the next generation of musicians.

I went to my first jam when I was 10 and they allowed me to play.  I was hooked, I loved it and wanted to learn and do more.  I started playing more jams and began playing live shows when I was 11.

I competed in the 2022 Dallas International Guitar Festival '10 under 20' competition for the first time.  Ally Venable pulled me up on stage during one of her shows that weekend, and our video on YouTube has had over 5 million views, and counting!  Through that video I was asked to open for Ally in a show in Houston, TX, and also in my hometown of Nashville, TN.  I just recently competed in the 2023 '10 under 20' competition and was awarded 3rd place and was also the youngest in the competition!

I had the honor of sharing the stage with Buddy Guy and Christone "Kingfish' Ingram at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville during Buddy's Farewell Tour. I’m the current host of the youth blues jam at Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, MS in conjunction with the International Blues Challenge and will continue hosting until I turn 18, when it will be handed off to someone else.

I'm also a two time Masterclass alum of the Pinetop Perkins Foundation workshops that are held once a year in Clarksdale….home of the delta blues, and overseen by many living blues legends including Bob Margolin, of the Muddy Waters Band.

I've formed a band called Danny Garwood & Co
